Letter from the President

Dear Members and Friends,

I would like to greet you and welcome you to the Excelsior German Center at the Altenheim website. The EGC is an East Bay center supporting education, heritage, culture for the German-speaking community, and of course, seniors. Towards that end, we sponsor events like the yearly German Fest, the German School of the East Bay, and special events in conjunction with the German Consulate of San Francisco and other German language clubs. We have our own building located on the grounds of our historic home, the Altenheim in Oakland, which is why you see it in our name. We plan to be here for another hundred years.

Any organization depends on the energy and the vision of the people it serves. Come join us and create the future for a vibrant hub of culture and service in the East Bay.

Mit freundlichen Gruessen,

Michael E. Willis, FAIA
President,
The Excelsior Center at the Altenheim
