Letter from the President

Dear Members and Friends,

Welcome to the website for the Excelsior German Center at the Altenheim. This is but one method of outreach to the German-speaking community. The main way we keep in touch is personal — connecting with each other at the many events in the East Bay. Please see our sponsorships to the events like the yearly German Fest, the German School of the East Bay, and special events in conjunction with the German Consulate of San Francisco and other German language clubs as evidence of that commitment.

We are fortunate to have our own building located on the grounds of our historic home, the Altenheim in Oakland, California. Even as the Altenheim grows in service to seniors, we grow in our service to the wider community.

Let us know what we can do to make this vibrant hub of culture and service in the East Bay even better.

Mit freundlichen...

Michael E. Willis, FAIA
President,
